Premier Hancock emphasizing importance of post-secondary education for …

Ahead of the meetings of Education Ministers in Charlottetown Alberta’s Premier is stressing the importance for the province to train students and to push education well beyond the High School level.

The Canadian Council of Chief Executives is pushing for all levels of government to put an end to what they believe is a major drop in the quality of education and skills across Canada.

Premier Dave Hancock stresses the importance of post-secondary studies for students who’ve graduated High School.

“You know with 80% of the new jobs requiring some form of post-secondary education we really do need to encourage our students to complete high school and move on to post-secondary education” says Hancock.

Hancock says the province is already having discussions about this and trying to get the private sector more involved.  (JSL/QR77)
